Asbestos can be found in many materials in your home or building, "Popcorn ceilings" sheet vinyl flooring, floor tile, roofing, drywall mud, wall or ceiling textures, pipe and boiler insulation, heating duct paper insulation just to mention a few.
You can take samples of these materials yourself and bring them to a lab to analyze or hire a independent lab to come out and take the samples, if these materials contain more than 1% asbestos they are considered asbestos containing materials.
In Washington state Puget sound area, The Puget Sound Clean Air Agency, and Department of Labor and Industries regulate the asbestos removal industry, permits must be filed with these agencies, there is a 10 calender day waiting period before work can begin.

Before the project begins you will receive a written site specific work plan.
On the day work is to begin a certified asbestos supervisor and certified workers will start work using state of the art methods and equipment.
Air monitoring will be done throughout the project and at the end. this air sample is the clearance sample and will be taken to a independent lab for analysis, if the results come back "clear" the enclosure or regulated area will be removed and a final inspection will be done by the supervisor.
